Itinerary GMEA Performance Evaluation Schedule- 8th GRADE BAND
2010

GROUP: Dodgen 8th Grade Band
DATE: Tuesday, March 16, 2010
LOCATION:
McEachern High School

FOOD:
In addition to the students' regular lunch, students will need to bring a substantial sack snack to eat immediately after school prior to our departure. The GMEA Performance Evaluation schedule does not include breaks for meals.

UNIFORM: Students will need to wear their official Dodgen Band uniform. Solid black pants; solid black socks that are long enough so that the student's leg and ankle do not show; and the official Dodgen Band shirt, neatly tucked in. Please remember that a trimmed band shirt that has been hemmed does not count as being tucked in. Students may wear their uniform to school to eliminate the need for a change of clothes.

TIME SCHEDULE
4:15 PM Report to the Band room to change into uniform, and pick up instrument. Take instrument and snack to the cafeteria.
5:00 PM Load Buses from the cafeteria
5:10 PM Depart Dodgen for McEachern High School
6:00 PM Arrive at McEachern High School, unload students and instruments.
6:05 PM Take all cases to the assigned storage area.
6:10 PM Depart the storage area for performance area. Listen to Palmer MS 8th Gr. Band.
6:50 PM Depart the performance area to pick up instruments in storage area
7:25 PM Begin warm-up and tuning session in area B (wrestling room)
8:05 PM Depart warm-up for performance area. Students are to remain orderly and quiet while moving to the performance area. Other groups are warming up and tuning in various locations. Parent chaperones will be needed to assist.
8:10 PM Begin performance by the 8th Grade Band
8:30 PM Conclude concert, move to clinic area
8:35 PM Begin clinic session with guest conductor
8:50 PM Begin Sightreading session (in the same room as the clinic)
9:00 PM Conclude sightreading, move to the storage area to pack up instruments
9:10 PM Move to buses and prepare for departure.
9:15 PM Depart McEachern High School
9:55 PM Arrive back at Dodgen.
9:55 PM Parents, please meet your child at Dodgen at 9:55 PM. We would like to clear the campus by 10:00 PM. If the GMEA event is running behind schedule, we will attempt to contact a parent to post a note on the Dodgen main entrance door and the back band room entrance door.

PERMISSION FORM DEADLINE 2-5-2010

Parents, I will need a permission form completed for each student attending the GMEA Performance Evaluation. Please go online to www.DodgenBand.org, click the PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS  link, select 8th Grade Band Permission Form . Complete the form as directed on or before 2-5-2010 and your information will automatically be downloaded to my spreadsheet.  Thank you.
