Spring Concerts!
Our series of spring concerts was a huge success! 7th and 8th Grade started with their award winning LGPE program, where they earned the highest possible ratings of straight superior! They concluded with four brand new selections that they prepared in just 2 weeks, showcasing their superior sightreading skills.
6th grade showcased their progress! Instead of playing lines from their band method book, they played 5 full band selections, highlighting their maturity and ensemble skills. Next year they will be placed in two full band classes that include all band instruments!

Welcome to the 2022-2023 Dodgen Band!

Mr. Jeffres and Mr. Westphal hope everyone had a great summer and are ready to kick off a phenomenal year!
7th & 8th Grade Band Families: Please continue reading below about important things to start the year strong.
ALL 6th Grade Families: Please click the "6th Grade Info" tab above to learn more about the first week of connections classes!
Bring Instruments the Morning of the First Day of School, or Even on Panther Day!
Everyone will have new locker assignments posted in the hallway. Please also bring in any instruments checked out from the school over the Summer. Students using school-owned instruments will receive new check out forms.
Check for Your Band Book & Supplies!
8th Grade will need Essential Elements for Band Book 2 (the same book we ended last year with) and 7th Grade will start with Essential Elements for Band Book 1 (the same book we ended last year with) and the progress to Book 2 in a few weeks. Be sure to check for your instrument specific supplies like reeds and valve oil...maybe even consider upgrading your mouthpiece!
Ensembles Are Back!
All 7th & 8th grade band students are invited to sign up for the Dodgen Band's Morning Ensembles! Please register on the Forms page during the first week of school and rehearsals will start the week of August 8th. For students who placed into the Dodgen Pops last Spring, we will be emailing you soon to tell you about when we are starting those rehearsals as well.
Honor Band & All-State Band
Do you typically get A's on playing tests? If so, you should considering trying out for District Honor Band or even All-State Band Auditions! The auditions for the county are held at Dodgen and we cover everything for the honor band audition in class. This is a great opportunity to motivate young musicians to grow and challenge themselves!
Want to watch last year's performances one more time?
Concert videos are posted below if you want to stroll down memory lane or to share with friends and family!
