6th Grade Band Instrument Information! (Scroll down for links to local music stores!)

Once you have joined Band, the first step is to finalize your instrument choice with the band directors. We will do this during class, on August 10th,11th, & 12th.

Once your fitting is complete, it is time to go get what you need!  We will begin instruction with instruments on Tuesday, August 18th so everyone will have a weekend to make sure you have what you need.

Visit the music dealer of your choice & acquire the following:
  • Instrument Listed on the Final Instrument Selection Form
  • Essential Elements for Band Book 1 (Instrument Specific)
  • Instrument Specific Supplies from the Dodgen 6th Grade Band Supply List
​It is recommended that you buy or rent from one of our many local dealers that specializes in musical instruments.  Purchasing from individuals is another option, although we recommend that you bring the instrument to the band directors or to a music dealer to determine its current playing condition and check for needed adjustments or repairs.

To avoid damage to the instrument or development of bad habits, please avoid putting the instrument together or attempting to play before specific instruction from the band directors during the first couple weeks!
